Christine Joo is a licensed psychologist in Washington State with extensive clinical experience dating back to 2003. She holds a Doctor of Education degree in Counseling Psychology and a Master of Arts degree in Mental Health Counseling.

Her professional journey encompasses a diverse range of settings, including community mental health agencies, psychiatric units, emergency rooms, and research roles during her graduate studies. Since 2009, she has devoted herself to full-time private practice.

Specializing in trauma-related disorders, neuropsychological evaluations, ADHD evaluation, and the reprocessing of chronic pain (neuroplastic pain), she excels in providing culturally competent assessment and treatment, specifically for Asian & Pacific Islander populations.

Christine is deeply passionate about providing neuropsychological evaluations, viewing them as powerful tools that enable her clients to understand and accept themselves more fully.  Witnessing her clients piece together the puzzle of their own identities and embrace themselves as whole individuals is a truly empowering experience for her.

Her therapeutic approach is eclectic, grounded in the establishment of trusting, interactive, and collaborative relationships with her clients. She believes in delivering therapy with compassion, empathy, and unconditional acceptance. Drawing from a diverse toolkit, she incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and elements of Psychoanalytic theory into her practice.  Additionally, Christine places a strong emphasis on educating her clients about the neurobiological underpinnings of human behavior and psychology.

With genuine passion, she helps her clients navigate acceptance of past and present circumstances while adapting to life's fluctuations. Over her 20 years of clinical practice, she has effectively treated/evaluated clients grappling with undiagnosed ADHD, ASD, depression, anxiety, trauma, phobias, relationship issues, low self-esteem, identity development (cultural/spiritual/personal), women's issues, and various other challenges.

Christine believes in the transformative power of therapy, guiding clients towards resilience and growth in the face of life's inevitable trials and changes.
